A grey Monday

Today early in the morning about 9:00 I went to my last job  to see
my old colleagues and say good morning !!
From my house it is about 1 km and I usually  were walking or with my bicycle ...
Today I took my little camera and I have some pics .....
This is the main road with grey buildings ...

                                   Another road with trees .......
This little balcony it is the same for  8 years as I remember .....
                                                      The park ...
the school full of screams .....

                                                The Church St. Eleftherios (=freedom)
And back the trees the old building of Prefecture Thessaloniki.
This old building was a Military Hospital  about 1920 and after 1945 I think
done the service of state ...

Opposite a classic Greek house....
                                            Another view....
                                                   The main entrance .....
                                            closer view .....
It takes to me 10 minutes to go upstairs and  say  Good Morning
                                             to my old friends ......

The garden with the old trees ....
                                                          QUIET  !!!!!
                                       nobody  outside .....
                                         head down and work ......
A little bit sunshine .... a hope .... but no....

This is the school of music  opposite ....

As my walk  continue   I was thinking all about  the last 8 years.....
                                               Have a nice week !!

  1. Dearest Olympia,

What a nice tour with you to your old work place! A dreary and gray day but nevertheless.
I did notice all the macramé work hangers for the plants on the balcony; very beautiful.
The Church is special and the Greek revival architectre we see a lot here in Georgia, even in my own town.
Have a lovely week and sending you love - the sun is not yet showing here...

  2. Dearest Olympia,

Okay, had to come back and let you know about your word verification. That does cause lots of problems and for that reason you might not get many comments, nor followers... Please do read my post about it for taking it off: http://bit.ly/wuDl5h
Just copy and paste this short link.
    Love to you,

  3. Oh Olympia! I got an idea of where you live! That's a truly nice tour and how beautiful visiting one's old colleagues at work! I guessed that in Greece it must be hot already - but as it looks the children are wearing jackets it is not the case! I assume though that soon you'll get warm and sunny days! Have a nice evening! 4. Dear Olympia - how nice that you have given us a little walk today. Lovely to see where you live and the journey to visit your old work colleagues. I wonder why we are having all of the warm weather in Britain? that is not normally the case. Take care.

  5. Ciao Christa!

How nice of you to show us a little bit of the place where you live. The other day I wore a pair of silver and mother of pearl Greek earrings I bought on the Island of Paros. They brought back memories of beautiful music, food and people. I wish I could go back to my first night ever in Athens: a hot wind blowing, people laughing, little shops where they sold Souvlaki, but most of all that music!

I remember dancing the sirtaki with a very old man in a taverna, one night. I got very, very drunk, Olympia, but I can honistly say I was having the time of my life!

I like it when you show us pictures of where you live. On the news they said that this week England will be warmer than Greece! So, that's bad new for you!

    CIAO!

  6. Dear Olympia,
That was a lovely walk through your streets on your way to your old work! So nice to see the interesting buildings, the children at school the trees and hanging baskets. Did I see oranges on one tree, I wonder!
I love to learn about your city, a much older city than Melbourne!
I hope the sun will soon be shining for you :)
Thinking of you and hope you are having a good week.
