I think many people would pay for it just the way it is now! No or nearly no renovation required! You are absolutely correct! Perhaps if you really want the old chippy look you can gently sand it a bit and give it a treatment to preserve it as Tammy has said.Liz @ Sit With Me In My Gardenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12994803446149647630noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3755191866573567199.post-5047867841958397712012-06-24T10:38:58.814+03:002012-06-24T10:38:58.814+03:00The door is lovely, Olivia. It would take some work, but you could strip all the old paint off and restore it to the natural wood, then stain it to protect it. It would be beautiful. It wouldn't cost much to do it yourself, just a lot of time, but so worth it when you are done. Love the door!Beth @A Little Country Househttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14875492924030724184noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3755191866573567199.post-68483478306356521892012-06-23T14:29:41.272+03:002012-06-23T14:29:41.272+03:00Olympia I l o v e it!!!!

This door looks like it's over 100 years old, which makes it a real antique! Please don't listen to your husband. The door just needs looking after and repainting. That's all. It's gorgeous just as it is... don't chance it and don't class it as "shabby chic" as, to me, shabby chic is really just "shabby." Antique is a different category. It is "IT."

Please restore the wonderful door and keep it. I think you are very lucky!

CIAO

ANNAAnnahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15531642906387702641noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3755191866573567199.post-31704226452676973802012-06-23T13:48:37.853+03:002012-06-23T13:48:37.853+03:00Dear Olympia - I love the paint work as it is. That is the look so many people are trying to achieve.
Incidentally you have given me a website for Greece!!! - mine is .co.uk.
You have done very well with the oval but what you need to do next time is press transparent in order to get rid of the white corners - give it a try♥ Then when you have mastered that take it to the next stage and make them round. Well done.Rosemaryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03814070177137076757noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3755191866573567199.post-52942491849234649172012-06-23T13:25:04.046+03:002012-06-23T13:25:04.046+03:00Sa fantastyczne, nie zmieniaj niczego.Sa naprawdę ...Sa fantastyczne, nie zmieniaj niczego.Sa naprawdę shabby chic!M.Artahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03125607183267298497noreply@blogger.com
